Welcome to the WOOD-TECH project website!

WOOD-TECH is a cooperative German-Russian initiative for decentralized bio energy systems and sustainable wood based bio-technologies in the forest rich region of Tomsk, Siberia. This bilateral project is funded by the BMBF Federal Ministry for Science and Education (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung).

The project runs from 01 September 2010 to 30 April 2011.

The main objective of the WOOD-TECH project is to establish a long-lasting cooperation between Russian and German partners for the development of regional decentralized energy systems. A specific focus lies in the investigation and sustainable mobilization of the large forestry and wood potentials in the Tomsk region and the development of options and pathways for a forest based bio-economy in the region. The fields of action include forestry, bio energy and bio-refinery technologies in a systems approach.
